Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) is an American performer, singer, and dancer. She started her Broadway career performing in musicals including Wicked and Legally Blonde and Hair. She won the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in the Play in the role of Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor as well as actress has worked with actors, directors and stage and screen throughout all her life. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's latest project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. It is Hulu Original, the film will be available on Disney DTC's platforms. Ashford will return to Broadway in March 2023, where he'll play Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place taking place at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The show will be directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who brought you Hamilton. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the crisis in which Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp was the lead character of the first ever impeachment proceedings in America. Ashford was a part of two seasons in CBS popular comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured iconic actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Some other Broadway appearances for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her performance as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned an Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and raised in Denver is now a resident between Los Angeles & New York.
