Kellie Martin, an American actress and film director best known as Christy Huddleston in the period drama "Christy", Rebecca Thatcher on the drama about families Life Goes On> and Lucy Knight for the medical drama ER. She is also known for appearing in the titular role in the "Hailey Dean Mystery" series. Martin, born to a department store seller and a kindergarten teacher began her professional career as an actress at age seven. Her aunt who worked as a nanny to actor Michael Landon's children was able to help Martin land a role in 1981's series "Father Murphy". Following her graduation of Yale University, she took acting more seriously, and eventually landed substantial roles, both on the smaller and big screen. In addition to being an actress Martin is an accomplished photographer, as well as a ballet dancer. Martin's sister, who died from Lupus at the age of 19, led her to becoming the Lupus national spokesperson.
